New leadership has made great changes
|
I need to say first that I am on Experts Exchange's Product Advisory Committee (a non-paid volunteer). So I believe I have a unique perspective of the site and the company. They have indeed asked all their members to post more reviews for their site (whether the reviews are good or bad). I'm not a direct employee of the company and although I am an expert on the site, over the years I've posted plenty of questions. In fact, I consider myself primarily an asker. So here is my honest review. The current version of the site is far more that window dressing. The new features they've added were done not from a "what will bring in the most money for us" attitude, but from a sincere "what needs do our customers have that we can fill" attitude. The effort to provide networking and educational opportunities are backed by serious research and focus by a team I respect and admire. I started out hating the idea of paying to access answers but eventually I relented because so often I saw that they did indeed have the answers I needed. After paying (which is no longer required) I was surprised at how fast my questions got answered (and I'd been active on many other online forums). The experts were, by and large, some of the best I'd ever seen and I liked how I didn't have to read through all the posts to get to the answer I was after. The business has gone through some leadership changes and I have to say that at this point, I truly believe that it's ethical, professional and that it has nothing but good-will at its core. They've evolved into a business that I'm absolutely proud to be associated with. I think they'll deserve five stars when the rest of their roadmap is achieved (which you can take a look at on their website).
