We had bought a new home and after a few estimates I decided to go with Advantage. They had not been the lowest price, but not the highest.
The problem was the quality of work and the time it took to complete the job. First ‘ALWAYS’ ask for your walls to be rolled, and second… ALWAYS check that the work has been completed. The paint had been applied so thin that we could see the color selection we had written on the wall before they had been painted. Also we had to go through the entire house twice with ‘post it notes’ to mark walls and areas of walls that had been missed. The owner got upset the first time when we pointed out the missed areas even arguing with my wife saying that we expected too much. The baseboards had excessive paint on some and often hadn’t been cleaned so dirt was mixed with the paint and looked terrible. Some walls had been missed all together while others showed light spray lines but fortunately we picked a color close to the one already in the home.
When we went through the home the second time with ‘post it notes’, the walls looked like some type of cluttered office (due to all the post it notes). He backed off and spent the next 4 days fixing the problems we had shown (after a 3 day break). He still repeatedly made more remarks about us wanting a ‘custom paint job’ or that ‘we didn’t pay for custom work’. We had been told the job would take 4-5 days, but ended up taking 2 weeks. There was never an apology for the quality of work, he argued with my wife and me about us paying even more (although we paid another $420.00 to have our doors painted). We just wanted the quality of work that he said he would deliver and not some ‘custom paint job’.
Needless to say I would suggest you look elsewhere for a painter and ALWAYS check their work. I felt that I needed to make sure other we’re aware of this as no reviews had been posted to date.
